In America in the beginning, the performance arts achievements of the young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the child prodigy category. Marguerita FitzSimons was a gifted contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake in "The Shamrock Rovers," a renowned Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons The rest of the family rounded out this wonderful family. Maureen loved playing rough sports as a kid and excelled in sports. This interest was combined with a natural talent for performance. This was demonstrated by her receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and performances in the theater that her nation offered. When she was fourteen, she was admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study operatic singing and classical theater.
